Job Description

Limbach Company LLC, a large national specialty mechanical construction and service company, is seeking a General Service Manager at our Pontiac, MI location. 

The primary function of a General Service Manager is to grow an existing Service Business through the sale of projects and maintenance contracts to accounts either provided by the Construction Group or developed through internally initiated calls. The General Manager will be responsible for obtaining the work through a subordinate sales organization, and then through the Area Service Manager assure the work is completed on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction and account for the work in an accurate and timely manner all within the guidelines established in the Limbach Service System.

 

Job Functions

  • Redeem the annual booking plan for the service operating unit through the sale of projects and automatically renewable maintenance contracts through a subordinate sales force.
  • Understands from a prospects perspective the costs associated with owning, operating and maintaining a building and is able to review those costs with prospects in various markets.
  • Able to effectively hire, train, coach and motivate sales reps.
  • Develop annual operating plans in conjunction with the Area Service Manager and Business systems Manager.
  • Redeem annual operating plan.
  • Effectively manage subordinates through coaching and mentoring.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts as scheduled.
  • With subordinate organization maintain the accuracy of all records, reports, logs and data required to operate and manage the service business.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with all fellow employees, prospects, customers and vendors and always represent the Company and yourself in a very positive and professional manner.
  • Participate as assigned to assist others in the Company to obtain or retain business in offerings not necessarily related to your primary function.
  • Using Company provided tools and formats submit weekly reports to management, which describes selling activity and booking activity for the week, month and year to date.
  • Understands customer organization and decision making processes to effectively participate in sales strategy development and presentations.
  • Train, coach and mentor staff in the development and implementation of effective sales strategies.
  • Establish escalation policies to assure customer retention while maintaining profit objectives.
  • With the Area Service Manager assure that all customers pay their invoices on time. 
  • Personally follow up on all receivables over 90 days past due.
  • Operate the business following the guidelines established in the Limbach Service System.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the HVAC/controls industry
  • 7+ years of HVAC Controls experience
  • Strong computer background
  • Ability to multi-task, work in high-pressure situations
  • Must be a “Team Player"
  • College degree preferred
