Job Description

Limbach Facility Services, a large national specialty mechanical construction and service company, is seeking a Service Technician at our Dayton, NJ location.

 

Primary Responsibility

Performs routine scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned maintenance contracts per monthly tasking sheets within the scheduled time period. Communicates with customer prior to start of work. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install HVAC equipment and components as assigned.

 

Job Functions

  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled per tasking sheets within the allotted time.
  • Inform customer upon arrival at the job site to assure the customer is aware of the work being performed, where it is being performed and any equipment shut downs required.
  • Log all necessary information on the tasking sheets as work progresses and turn the completed tasking sheets in with the Service Report upon completion.
  • Able to trouble shoot, repair or replace HVAC equipment, components and systems.
  • Understands systems and is able to question customers systematically to narrow the search for a solution to the reported problem.
  • Is able to instruct the customer on the proper operation of equipment and systems and is able to tactfully offer suggestions to the customer when the reported problem is caused by the customers use of the system.
  • Always keeps the customer informed of the status of all repairs.
  • Completes a Service Report and gets the customers signature on every call.
  • Always on the look out while performing assigned duties for potential equipment or system problems that may cause failures in the near future. Report these to your Supervisor and or the Dispatcher for disposition prior to completing the Service Report.
  • Make sure all equipment is turned back on and operating properly prior to leaving the facility.
  • Always clean up the work site before leaving and properly dispose of all discarded material and supplies.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with all fellow employees, prospects, customers, vendors, and sub contractors and always represent the Company and yourself in a very positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance through the use of clean, well maintained company uniforms, neat and clean personal grooming and have a high degree of respect for the customers business areas and employees.
  • Maintain your truck in a clean orderly fashion and make sure all routine preventive maintenance is performed when needed.
  • Attend technical training at every opportunity available.
  • Assists Service Technicians, Senior Service Technicians and Installers in repairing, replacing, and installing HVAC equipment and components.
  • Provide on site hands on training and assistance to fellow technicians.
  • Provide classroom training to fellow technicians as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and systems including refrigeration and large tonnage equipment
  • 5+ years of HVAC contracting experience
  • Strong computer background
  • Ability to multi-task, work in high-pressure situations
  • Must be a “Team Player"
  • Technical degree or certification preferred
